I run a large computer network and keep buying these for myself. Even though each department has an all-in-one printer/scanner, I sometimes offer up my unit to be used for specific scan jobs that need to be done. This is the 3rd time I've done that and they end up liking it so much they never give it back!!!!POSITIVE: Small, easy to use (once it's configured), fast, touchscreen, changing scan settings for an individual job is super easy with everything right there on the main screen.NEGATIVES: Expensive for what it does - I can buy a decent all-in-one laser printer with most of the same features for 1/3 of the price! Initial configuration can be a little confusing, but that's the case when configuring almost any scanner from a brand you're not used to. I haven't had this complaint from other users, but I've found that it can sometimes pull in multiple pages at the same time, defeating the purpose of a multi-sheet feeder.Hopefully I don't need to buy any more, but I will if I lose this one too.

I've had this unit replaced twice now.In theory, this is an awesome product. When it's working, it very quickly scans large documents to a network location, which is great. The problem is that, most of the time, it suffers from multiple-feeds and paper jams. The paralegals in our office have resorted to single-page feeding this unit instead of putting a stack in and letting it run.I'm not sure who did the QA testing on this scanner. The 220p has occasional jams but seems to work pretty well once the rollers are broken in. This version, however, has never worked as expected.In short, it cost us a whole ton on money to buy a scanner that doesn't work as advertised. The unit creates more problems than it solves.In addition, the setup is non-intuitive. I hold MCSA/MCSE and SEC+ certifications and it took me a good afternoon to get everything up and running properly. The Fax portion needs to be removed, it's useless to anyone who isn't actually running a fax server in the office. Having the button on the primary interface is confusing. The email option only works with an open-relay, which is useless to 99% of all email setups. LDAP address book integration is limited to something like 99 contacts, which is unhelpful considering the size of most contact lists in the internet age.Avoid.

I'm very happy with the time it took to get the scanner. It was packaged well and ready to plug inThe scanner is not as simple to use as it should be or advertised. I have a situation where I work for a large company but own my own office. I don't have access to my company server, so therefore I can not set up this scanner without a serious amount of time with my IT dept. This isn't explained in the marketing materials.It's sold as, just plug in follow a few simple steps and your done. In reality you need a server, unless you want to use gmail or any other public email account, which isn't necessarily safe for client documents. If you don't know what a SMTP or port# is or how to find it, don't buy this scanner.

The email can be non-intuitive to setup. You need to make at least 1 user account. Then you can edit account properties to setup a standard smtp server using a login and password.Also, the feed problems are likely caused by the single/multiple feed selector switch being in the wrong position.I've deployed 6 of these across a variety of environments and they are all excellent.The first one I deployed was about 5 years ago. The page count on it currently exceeds 100k.

love it! Works realy fast and accurate! The only problem is that is not easy to sutup or to change the config.

We had a few thousand charts to scan into the server computer, and this scanner did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend.

I already had an older version of this scanner and had good experience with it. This scanner also works great.
