LG SK5R 4.1 Ch High Res Audio Soundbar

Absolutely brilliant for the money, but lacking high bass or low mid, there is definitely a flat spot in the sound. Otherwise brilliant, huge sound, bass thumps. And great surround sound. Well worth the price.

I bought this to replace a LG 2.1 sound bar I have had for few years that sound bar always had problems with dialogue and was always a compromise never quite getting it right. I noticed recently that there was problem With rattled at certain times at high volume so I decided to get a new one and did a lot of research as I wanted a wireless cinema surround system however I was limited to choice.I decided on this unit based on reviews I read on line and ordered one the delivery arrived prompt and undamaged excellent, unpacking the unit and putting it together was pretty easy, a optical cable was not included but had one from previous set up, in the box are all the other cables you need consisting of the power cables and left and right rear speaker cables all pretty easy to plug and play.Turning the unit on it connects wirelessly to the subwoofer and the rear speaker amplifier.The unit boasts different sound effects and they are all very good the dialogue is clear but you will need to do a certain amount of tweaking but once set the surround sound effects bring any dts broadcasts to life and Blu-ray dvd all sound super.It is a 4.1 system meaning that there isn’t a centre dialogue speaker but I found no problems with dialogue once everything was balanced there is a sweet spot when everything is right and the sound effects are just like being at the cinema. Summing up a excellent unit with wireless connectivity except rear speakers will need tweaking to achieve the best results the nearest thing to a wire free cinema system I could find.

not the best surround soundbar system I've heard at similar prices, would be nice to have a volume number setting displayed, but does do the job if you dont want to much heavy bass, quite a refined sound just not mind blowing

Quite impressed with this system dts x is not amazing because it needs speakers facing up as well as forward on bar but does give a fuller sound its very clear sound plus the rear speakers make this system a good option it really fills the room with sound using dts x setting bass is fairly impressive too only wish it had proper display but the price reflects this omission. The main thing is the sound is great with music tv and films so well happy and glad i chose over sk5 that has no rear speakers as i know i would miss them greatly for that true surround experience that the sk5r delivers.

Tv’s now look so cool but the sound tends to be really muted.I researched this and took the plunge and am so glad that I did. Sound is crisp and clear and I got a good price for it. Cost me about 250 but I see that now they cost more:Highly recommended

Took a chance on this soundbar and I am very pleased that I did. I didn't want to spend more than my LG TV cost and this seemed to fit my needs from its description. It's much more powerful than my old Samsung HW-J355 and the DTS:X surround sound effect is phenomenal. The subwoofer is punchy and the wireless rear speakers complete the deal, delivering a truly immersive experience. I could probably have paid three times as much and not have gotten a better system.

Going from a 2.0 soundbar to this 4.1 system brings a smile everytime the subwoofer kicks in. Would seriously recommend this product, easy to set up and great cinema sound for the price, the only downside is that no optical cable is supplied.

Bit disappointed with this, was hoping having the extra speakers would make a difference but they didn’t. Have to say my old Panasonic sound bar was much better. Purchased for the price which seemed really good, but overall would not buy again. Additional speakers are not wireless and you have to line them up with the sub woofer for them to work, also subwoofer really quite quiet compared to my old Panasonic one
