Amazing characters
I absolutely loved Clover from the very second I started reading this. I could relate to her easily and wanted so bad for her to be happy again. This was such a seamless story that flowed easily with little typos. I didn't feel rushed to read about Clover and Damon's story, but I didn't want to put it down. Great job Kia!Clover works as a personal assistant for a big magazine, she thought working here would make her happy. The thing is, that her jealous witch of a boss makes her life hell. When asked to show up to a function with a boyfriend she gives in not wanting her boss to win, and calls an escort. Little did she know that her stunningly handsome old fashioned escort, Damon would challenge her and make her question her happiness. On the other hand, little did Damon know that gorgeous stubnorn Clover would be the one to heal his broken heart. Follow along on a beautifully told love story.

A Nice Light Read
The author did a great job of staying on track with the storyline, was efficient with descriptions, and main character build. Like most novellas there isn’t a lot of depth, but this author just got in deep enough to build a simple, but sweet story without making me feel there needed to be more or leaving me with lots of questions, or holes in the story. The only question I had is what is Cassidy’s role at the firm? She was a big part of this story and it was ambiguous. A few sentences for this would have been sufficient. The only other oddity was how close Cassidy and Clover seemed to be yet were not truly friends outside of work. The characters seemed close, but distant to me. They never did anything together except play dress up. Maybe it seemed like the relationship was not not personal because Clover wasn’t included in the birthday party either, a reasonable excuse for no birthday party with the girls may have helped.Loved that the main characters didn’t have instant love and end up having sex within the first 10 or 20 pages or even first chapter of the book. This was a super slow burn. The part that annoyed me the most was Clover not having a proper backstory for how she met Mr. Escort. Of course people were going ask. That would have been the first thing I would have thought of in her situation.Plus, no pets names? I don’t know one couple in a relationship that doesn’t have a pet name for each other even it’s just babe or hun. How is no pet names suppose to look real? Then Clover gets mad at Mr. Escort for taking the initiative for them and demands a discount? What?! Ummm.... Damon is theoretically the dating expert here and he didn’t come up with a bizarre backstory either. The dramatics were nicely done to build up the story. I like the ending and the Epilogue fit nicely.Well written overall with very few editing errors making for a pleasant read.I plan to read the next book.

Not What One Would Expect
Most of the people who saw the title of this book while I was reading, assumed it was something raunchy and played out. I would say that in reality, it's a great story that speaks to most people. A great portrayal of how you can get stuck in a rut whilst chasing your dreams and every now again, you need someone (or something) unexpected and exceptional to help pull you out and guide you towards your personal greatness.

Great Book
This is the 4th book I've read written by Kia Carrington-Russell; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books. The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

The Wedding Date plus 27 Dresses whilst still being original
This started off slow, meandering through Clover’s work life, and I nearly gave up on it since the escort didn’t entering in until well past my usual 15% decision mark, but I held out a little longer for his entrance and I was certainly glad I did since I sped through the rest of it at high speed, downing it in a single evening. This story is like a cross between The Wedding Date and 27 Dresses. While I don’t usually go for contemporary romances (and especially work place dramas), this story still won me over. Clover was wonderfully hopeful, even with her cluelessness and so downtrodden you couldn’t help but root for her to be rescued or awakened to the world around her so she could take charge on her own. Her loneliness felt genuine, especially since she was a cat lady. Damon, though obvious, was devilishly charming, devious, with that undercurrent of emotion just peeking through.I actually expected this to be sex the entire way through (I’m not a fan of erotica, so I was cringing the entire time, expecting to be running across it around every corner), so I was pleasantly surprised when I really didn’t run into much at all and the little I ran into was relatively chaste. Meaning that this story was predominantly a romance rather than leaning on porn as a crutch for dragging in the audience and I totally applaud it for in this day and age where most of the indie authors seem convinced that the stories need sex to sell.I do have some minor complaints however (grammar police that I am). Though this was set in New York City and the heroine was supposed to be a native of Ithaca, New York, every so often British terms would pop up like “lift” and “bum” and I’ve never heard the world “whilst” used before (outside of Shakespeare), but here the author used it once on every page (if not twice), including in dialogue.I would easily recommend this to fans of Hollywood movie romances looking for a suave escort to sweep them off their feet.
