Perfect for me so far, all the features for reasonable $
I bought this early July during Prime Days. So I got a really good price on it ( 280 ). So, for me, at that price point, it can't be beat:I have a compass.I can charge it the night before a diving trip. ( I dont wear it every day, just to dive, so the battery life isn't an issue and I wanted to be able to charge it myself without visiting a jewelry store like the water-resistant watches from decades ago)It records everything I need ( depth, temp, time,...).Perfect for me, the recreational diver who will not spend 1000 or more on a device that i can only use on occasion ( I'd love to dive more, but I work too and I dont live near the water)

Easy to use and to understand
I'm pretty new at diving but I wanted a computer that would give all the relevant information while I'm underwater and I have to say this is a great computer. I've used it on 5 dives so far and it's pretty easy to transfer your logs to the Suunto app via bluetooth. It has different views, so as soon as you touch the water it will show you the depth screen, where you can see how deep you're and your diving time. You have a third option to switch between your max depth, your time before deco, temperature and remaining battery. You can switch to your compass view, so it can help you navigate. It's easy to lock your bearing by holding a button. To unlock it you do need to navigate into the settings menu and you need to do it once you're out the water. Your compass needs to be calibrated after every time you charge your computer.I don't have the wireless transmitter so I didn't use the gas remaining screen. When you are ascending you see if you are ascending at a good pace or if you are ascending too fast, it you're too fast it will sound an alert and vibrate. It will also recommend you deep stops and safety stop. You can configure this at the settings. After you finish diving it will show you your no fly time and your surface time. The settings menu might be confusing at first but then it's pretty easy to navigate. When diving the light is always on, so consider it when setting the bright level.

I recommend
Being in Brazil, I made this purchase with this seller and sent it to a hotel where a friend was staying and everything went well with the delivery, there was a setback but the seller kept me well informed of everything that was happening and then remade the delivery, super attentive. I recommend it to everyone

Good but not great.
On the plus side, it has some nice features like the possibility to give air tank information and remaining air time (at an additional price), a compass function that seems to me rather complicated in practice --I'd rather use a $15 generic one on the watch strap like the one Suunto used to offer for their defunct Mosquito- and a nice graphical display that can show the dive profile. On the minus side, the rechargeable battery seems to me an unnecessary chore. As the owner of previous generation Suunto dive computers, like the Mosquito watch and the air integrated Cobra, one of their superb features was the possibility of battery replacement by the owner in a simple and straightforward manner with the aid of common tools and the ample availability of the chosen battery types. Suunto's design for the D5 will have you dependant on electric current availability that you might or not always find nearby. In any case you will be limited to 11 hours of bottom time, tops! Chosen display design will be a matter of taste but I find the older designs simpler and less involved. The multi level menu design will keep you hunting for the correct place to the feature you need, something that on a dive can be even dangerous.

Value just not there
As much as this costs, you better love it. The problem there other options costing half as much with the same features set (AI, compass, multi-gas). Aqua Lung i450T for example. What is good? The less conservative algorithm (more bottom time). Color is nice. Maybe Bluetooth if your a mobile device-only user. The cons?Way too many button presses to see needed info, especially when monitoring air. No way to scroll the variable info field backwards, forcing you to cycle through 14 other fields. This was the hurdle I just couldn't get over.Battery - If you forget to charge once on a multi-day trip, you could easily run out, losing all your loading info.USB charging cable is a bit flimsy. There is a strong magnet to hold it; but as a result, you will very likely stress the cable to detach it. Oh, and that magnet also deactivates the compass until you've calibrated it again.Lastly, the screen is fairly dim and needs the highest brightness for sunny diving conditions... further impacting the battery life.I wanted to love it. It looks fantastic. In the end, it's too expensive to justify the negatives.

A great dive computer!
The product came exactly as described. This is a great dive computer for both recreational and tec diving. A bit expensive but a good purchase

I love this watch
I switched from my old SUUNTO D4i after it kept up eating batteries.I love this new model, no more batteries, you charge it with usb cable plus there is a clear indication of how many hours you have left on the battery.I use this watch for freediving, so the vibration mode helps so much, half the times I just don't notice the alarm beeping, but with the vibration its harder to miss.I also like the new display.and the fact that all my dives get synced to my phone after the dive so I can go through them after and analyze is amazing - a great buy!
