are these "on ear" or "over ear" headphones?

There are two types of hesh 2.( 45's & 55's) One pair are smaller & are more expensive. The other which I went back to change out are over ear. Put on in first. Some people have longer lobes than others. Cant believe I an telling adults how to put their ears in headphones! (Just as if they were shooting protectors) try it !

Do these have a built-in mic?

Yeah the mic isn't exactly the best. It's on the right cup and you'll want it pretty far forward to be able to be heard. It also picks up noise around you, so being in a loud area will drown out whatever you're trying to say pretty easily.

What does it mean by only 2.0?

These phones utilize the Bluetooth 2.0 standard. It gives an effective range of about 30 feet in most conditions, but can be more when line-of-sight is clear. There are higher standards (read, more $$) of bluetooth with a 100 foot range. You can read all about it on Wiki, if you want more info.

Just got them, will not connect to my usb bluetooth. do i need separate transmitter to plug into headphone jack?

I’m a 81 year old woman and I used a Taotronics wireless stereo transmitter connected to a older tv. The Hesh earphones connected to the wireless stereo transmitter model:TT - BA01. Good sound. I also connected 2 headphones at the same time by adding a Aluratec to the mix. It took a while for me to figure it out but it worked.
