Color:White OVERVIEW Migiwata tapes are self-adhesive grafting tapes that stretch with plant growth and are resistant to fungus and mildew. The grafting tape is excellent for bench grafting as well as top-working. It can also be used as a budding tape. These tapes are manufactured from FDA approved polyethylene materials. They will work in temperatures ranging from -40F to 120F degrees (-40C to +50C). Migiwata grafting taps will stretch with the plant growth and will typically start to unravel and remove itself from the graft over period of time sufficient for good graft knitting and growth to occur. In extremely windy conditions, it may be advisable to secure the loose end of the tape in order to prolong its life on the graft. Its breathable property allows gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc. to pass through, and as such offers an excellent breathable moisture barrier. The combination is perfect for grafting which requires a barrier to keep moisture in while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through. THEHNICAL DETAILS Size per Roll: 3cm Wide x 100m Long (1.2” x 3937”) Color: Semi-transparency Material: Polyethylene Package: 3 Rolls in a bag GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Apply the grafting tape with the adhesive side out. It will stick to itself, and by applying with the adhesive side out, it will not stick directly to the plant. The tape is similar to a “stretch wrap” film but has an adhesive side and is fungus and mildew resistant. Because the tape is pressure sensitive it is important to familiarize yourself with the variety of stretch pressure needed to produce a successful outcome. Depending on the plant variety, we generally recommend about 50% stretch to secure the grafted stock as well as to produce a good callous formation. A minimum of 4 to 5 layers of tape must be applied to your grafted stock for proper sealing of the join and strength.
