Worth it!
Don’t like the price but LOVE the convenience of this artificial reed for my bari. It is always dependable at the gig when down time or switching instruments could dry out a natural cane reed. The response is great in all registers, especially the low range. The tone is on the edgy side (not a bad choice for classical but not the best choice either). Works very well for pop and jazz. For comparison, my legere reed is more centered and clean sounding but not as quick a response or as versatile.I gig several times a week and this reed lasts a decent period of time - 3 to 6 months(that’s longer than my cane reeds last). They run soft in comparison to natural reed strength. I order a full size to one and a half times harder.Not as big a fan of fibracell for the tenor or alto sax though. The tone is still edgy but on the thin side lacking fullness and center. The response, range, and durability is less too. Also, for some reason, my lip always ends up bleeding from the sharply cut side edges of the reed. Tried sanding the edges but still too sharp or rough….not sure. I prefer the legere for my alto and tenor.
