The Sponsor's 12 Step Manual: Workbook Edition

The author uses a six-point method of teaching to reinforce leaning and to increase comprhension and promote awareness of the steps to its fullest extent. I find this approach refreshing and challenging, and exciting way to learn, and then to turn around and teach, the 12 stepslAt first I was skeptical, as it seemed it all might be busyworkl But after investigating and indulging in the exercises and grids for a full capter, I found myself to be a true believer and hooked on the educational system presented herein. The book had me searching within myself to define my terms, to come up with my own anwers to common phrases.I have not yet fintshed this workbook, but I am taking my time in getting through this work. A work of this caliber desrves honest effort. I was very glad to find this book and add it to my recovery book collection.

I've actually given these out to sponsees because of the workbook portion. Don't confuse this with the regular 12 step sponsors manual that does not include areas for the sponsee to do some writing. I'd give this an A+ rating and believe it is a must have for any AA sponsor.

On time, arrived undamaged. Haven't opened the book yet. Have a full library of things to read and workbooks to do. But, I am still working the program as a recovering alcoholic and am sure it will be of benefit, otherwise I would not have ordered it.

Very descriptive in working through a challenge. Love the additional questions! Nice add to my recovery library. My disease of more is my love of solutions today. 😊

I liked how it did have the definition to the words for people to understand more

I've been in a twelve step program for decades but never new about books such as this. Found it very helpful.

Great resource for anyone who wants to be a better sponsor.I'd give it 5 stars, but it is not an indispensable book.

Wasn't what I thought. More for a treatment program in my opinion.

I have been working through the 12 Step Programme with a sponsor and have found John E's text to be an invaluable learning aid; not least because it inspires a thorough understanding of each step with constant reference to the reader's own experiences.John E appears to have adopted the straightforward yet highly effective approach of applying a well tried and tested teaching methodology to learning the concepts within the AA primary texts of the Big Book and 12 & 12.The author, presumably deliberately, avoids the common pitfall of giving the reader his own 'take' or 'spin' on recovery.Highly Recommended.

An excellent breakdown of the 12 steps which makes learning and understanding each step much easier.
