KEF E301 Satellite Speakers - White/Satin

KEF has been my favorite loudspeaker since I went shopping with Dad for Mother's Christmas present, a new hi-fi stereo system in the early nineties. The Uni-Q design may be partially to credit as back then almost all of the speakers looked similar, black boxes of various sizes and prices. My father allowed me to choose within our price range and it was hands down the KEF speakers with Uni-Q. I think we listened to about a dozen competitors before choosing. None provided the true to life sound of the KEFs. It has been over twenty years now and Mom has handed them down to me still in near mint condition. I have married the love of my life and built a home that includes a dedicated media room. I purchased these speakers as wall mounted rears. I am extremely pleased with the overall experience when listening to music or watching a film. I have recommended KEF to family and friends looking for reliable, aesthetically appealing, true to life sound.

I bought these as surrounds to pair with some KEF Q100 bookshelf speakers. The highs and mids sound as good as the bookshelfs, but they are prett lacking in the lows. Definitely best for use with a sub or as surrounds.

Mids could be better. It's best use is to place them as rear surrounds. Even in the home theatre set up, would rather have bigger Kefs than E301. Beware of the fact that u cannot orient this as horizontal speaker, as all of these are only vertically placed. It's range is good. However does cannot replace a good central speaker. I tested B&W MM1 too before. E301 sound better

Great looks and superb sound. Would highly recommend. Make sure to get a subwoofer as well for the lower frequencies.
