VitalsoxAdult Compression Socks

Well made, comfortable daily-wear sock, questionable compression value
As a daily-wear or dress sock, these are very comfortable and well made. They have a nicely padded foot bottom and are made from very comfortable materials. I would recommend these even if you don't need compression socks. For the price, they're not much more expensive than the Thorlo dress socks that I normally wear and these provide more support. It takes a little getting used to wearing a sock that comes up to your knee. The only think that I don't like about them is that they're treated/scented with some kind of powder that is unappealing. Hopefully that will eventually wash out.As compression socks, these aren't as tight as custom-made compression socks. They are snug and do provide some support, but I don't know that they help significantly with swelling or blood flow. I wear size 13 EEE shoes and have large calves from decades of cycling. The large size was snug, but not quite as tight on the calves as a compression sock should be. The medium was too tight.

Seem like a good value.
I am an international long haul pilot. For the last 6 years these are the only uniform socks I carry. The same 8 pairs have gotten used every day, 2 weeks a month for years, and not so much as a run! I have no idea if they help or not, but the do provide nice compression, and must have titanium in them because they last and last. I bought some more so I can rotate them. They stay up well and are comfortable on my 20 to 30 hour duty days.

Do the job well
After two 15 hour flights where a pair of Large Travelsox TSS6000 (large) kept my legs from swelling without being too uncomfortable, I decided I needed to wear compression socks daily so I bought several pairs to compare. The Travelsox and Fytto Style 1067 (Extra-large) socks both perform very well. After all day on my feet I will have little or no swelling. The Fytto is lighter and actually a little more comfortable, but both are fine. The Travelsox have held up well through several washings, the Fytto through a couple. The Sigvaris Business Casual 189CC99 (size C) tended to slip down my leg. When they stayed up they were reasonably comfortable and worked well. The Vitalsox Graduated Compression VT1211 (large) are very uncomfortable and not very effective at preventing swelling. I wear size 12 shoes, my lower leg is 18 inches floor to knee, my calf is 16 inches around.

TravelSox rule the world in Compression&Comfort
After 10y+ of plane ride we needed to invest in new pair of TravelSox. The older pairs are being worn as outside work socks now. I have 3 different name brands of compression socks. These are our faves for travel. Most comfortable and does not irritate my skin. I am very sensitive to Polyester, these do not contain polyester in the materials. TravelSoxs are the top of the line for us! Worth the money. Do not hesitate!

graduated compression hose
My husband's feet, ankles and a bit higher do become swollen when he keeps his feet down for any period of time since he does have CHF. We had to travel over 500 miles to the Cleveland Clinic and my fear was exceptionally swollen lower extremities. Thus, I purchased these hose. They are attractive and look like dress hose, but slightly thicker. They do an exceptional job of providing the massage necessary to assist his lower extremities from holding too much fluids. He DID swell, but not as much as I expected. At first he said they were uncomfortable (he has a tendency to be a whiner anyways) and after some insistence to wear them awhile before removing them, he admitted they were no longer uncomfortable after about 15 minutes. The fit was perfect. People need to understand that compression hose are intended to be a tight fit or they can't do their job. These hose, if you buy the correct size, should fit.I am an RN and suggest someone else applies the hose to the individual. Apply lotion to the feet liberally first which helps slide them on. Gather them in the hands down to the toe area and put them on the toe, then over the heel, then grasp them between thumb and fore finger and inch them up, gradually, all the way up to the knee. Will take some patience and 2-3 minutes. Well worth the effort. We were both amazed at how much less the swelling was than we expected after a day's travel. If your shoe size is 10-12, you would wear a large, 7-10 should be a medium, etc. I would like it much better if they were sized according to shoe size. However, an obese person, or one with generally obese legs, I would suggest even the large size here would not fit. My husband has skinny legs, but a size 11 shoe. I bought large...fits perfectly. If you need a more perfect fit, go for a TED hose like hospitals use. We have to measure the knee, calf, and ankle to obtain the correct side of TED hose.
