Easy, wholesome rice blend with great texture โ definitely buying again
RiceSelect Royal Blend was completely new to me, but Iโm glad I tried it. We have really started enjoying rice more at our house, especially for rice bowls and easy meal-prep meals, and this is going to be a great one to keep on hand. I followed the cooking directions on the container, with one little change: instead of adding salt, I used Knorr roasted beef bouillon and used olive oil as the optional oil. Because of the bouillon, mine cooked up with a darker, beefier color than the plain rice would have, but the blend itself had no strange or unusual taste at all. The different white, brown, red and wild rice gave it more texture and interest than plain white rice without making it feel heavy. Cooking performance/time: This was very easy to make. The directions call for simmering about 15 minutes and then letting it stand covered for 5 minutes. It was completely finished by the time I cooked the salmon croquettes that I had prepped earlier, so everything came together at about the same time. That makes it a really convenient side for a quick weeknight meal. Taste/texture: The grains cooked up nicely and had a pleasant texture. Nothing about the multigrain blend tasted overpowering or odd. It took the beef bouillon flavor very well, which also tells me it should work with all kinds of seasonings, broths and sauces. Serving size: I prepared the full amount listed in the directions, which says it yields approximately 3 cups. I was serving three adults along with salmon croquettes, chow chow, pickled onions and pickled carrots. I made all three plates and thought we were finished โ until my husband went back looking for more! I ended up giving him what was left of my serving. So for us, one prepared batch was just right for three adults as a substantial side. Healthiness: I also like that this is a simple blend of long-grain basmati rice, brown rice, red rice and wild rice. The label shows only 140 calories, 0.5 g fat and 5 mg sodium per 1/3-cup dry serving, before whatever you choose to add while cooking. That makes it easy to keep it light or customize it to the meal. Using olive oil worked perfectly for us. Cleanliness/quality: The dry rice looked clean and fresh in the container, with the different grains clearly visible and evenly mixed. I didnโt notice unwanted debris or anything concerning while measuring or cooking it. Color: This is also prettier than plain rice. You can clearly see the white, brown, red and wild grains in the uncooked blend. Mine became darker after cooking because I intentionally used roasted beef bouillon. Size/value: The 21-ounce container is a nice size for our household. Since one cup of the dry blend made enough for our three-adult dinner, this container should make quite a few meals for us. I can already picture using this in chicken or salmon bowls, alongside vegetables, under saucy dishes, or seasoned differently depending on the meal. It was quick, light, filling without feeling heavy, and genuinely good enough that my husband went back for seconds. Helpful buyer takeaway: If you normally buy plain white rice but want something with more texture and variety without an unusual flavor, this is an easy step up. And if you like seasoning rice with broth or bouillon instead of plain salted water, this blend takes added flavor very well.

Aromatic & Delicious
My family and I really love this rice blend. It is a really nice blend of different rice variety which each flavor complementing the other. Because there are different varieties of rice it means there are different textures also which makes a really nice mouth feel. It is very easy to cook and it cooks a perfectly each time. The rice is nice and fluffy and is not all stuck together. The directions are really easy to follow. I definitely plan on buying more and I would recommend it.

Excellent real wild rice!
This wild rice is terrific. Also really good to use in veggie burgers-although I donโt eat them, Iโm a chef and this wild rice would do well in a veggie burger mix. Very tasty and actually real wild rice. Worth the money!

Great rice blends
Iโm really happy with this rice blends! The quality is excellent, and it cooks perfectly every time. The grains come out fluffy, soft, and not sticky when prepared correctly. It has a clean, fresh taste that goes well with so many dishes, from simple meals to more elaborate recipes.

Good Value, Good Flavor
There is too much white rice in this blend compared to other wild rice mixes Iโve purchased, but this is among the cheaper and more accessible options, so itโs a trade-off, I guess. Cooks up in the expected time and has a good, earthy flavor. A little bit goes far. I like that it comes in a jar for freshness (vs. other brandsโ resealable bags). Overall this is a solid choice that I have purchased several times.

Makes a Delicious Mushroom Rice Dish! Yum!
If you are pretty adventurous in the kitchen then I can highly recommend this delicious rice blend that even cooks up perfectly in a rice cooker. I have a small rice cooker and I used 1 cup of this rice plus 2 cups of water and pressed the button. About 15 minutes later I had rice ready to go. While I was waiting I fried 8 ounces of sliced white mushrooms in 1/4 cup water until just cooked. Then when the rice was done I used mitts to take the rice cooker liner out and I scooped the rice into the frying pan. Then I added 1/4 cup salted butter and let it melt into the rice, stirring well. This made an excellent side for meatballs in a sweet-and-sour sauce. Delicious! I'll definitely be getting this rice again. It looks like it is going to last a while since I only need one cup per meal and the container makes it easy to store in the pantry! Win-Win! ~The Rebecca Review

Tasty and elegant addition as a side dish. Wonโt disappoint!
Love this rice! This blend goes above plain white rice by adding a meaty and yet subtle texture to any dish. Cooks like any other rice but also does not cook into mushy paste like some rices do.

Love this stuff!
I absolutely love Rice Select's Royal Blend. It pairs beautifully with any protein. The packaging is easy to handle and keeps the product fresh with a tight fitting lid. Using me many years of restaurant experience, I enhance the already great tasting Royal Blend by first softening some mirepoix in some butter or olive oil. Then I add the water, bring it to a boil and add the rice and return it to a boil. At this point I place the dish in the hot oven until the rice absorbs the liquid. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes and serve. Yummy!
