it gives some lift when you are swimming but can't be used as a floaty
The media could not be loaded. what I like about this product1) light weight2) easy to use3) affordable priceThis is definitely not designed to be used to as a FLOATY, so I would say it is perfect for people who are not a great swimmer, BUT CAN SWAIM and want to challenge themselves to swim in a lake or river or even the ocean that is very deep! And It is for kids or people who are on the smaller side because the circumference is not very long!!lastly have fun swimming :)

Useless
This belt is useless. I know it’s not meant as a safety device but it wouldn’t even keep a 60lb child’s head above the water.

It’s exactly what I needed to be able to swim again.
Some years ago, I exercised 3 time a week by swimming laps in an indoor pool. I did this for about 10 years. Then I moved to a different city where I didn’t have access to a suitable pool. Now I live in a community with 2 nice indoor pools. About 6 months ago, after 22 years, I decided to take up swimming again. I was astonished that I could no longer swim because my body was no longer neutral buoyant. I kept sinking to the bottom. So, I bought this belt to achieve neutral buoyancy. The design allows adding and removing panels to adjust the amount of buoyancy. I ended up buying 2 belts and placing all 12 panels on a single belt, giving me about 5 pounds of extra buoyancy. Now I can swim again. Footnote: I wondered why my body changed so much in 22 years. I finally figured it out. Three years ago, I had a complete hip replacement. The metal and ceramic joint weighs 5 pounds.

Variable quality
One that came had a clip that was the wrong size and wouldn’t fasten - needed to make a repair by replacing the size of the clip. The others came fine. Dried fast.
