Not worth the money
I'm surprised with some many buyers rating this product so highly. Perhaps the reviewers did not have a chance to use something more decent. It appears that designers of the clock did not think it thoroughly, and did not test it to check the usability of the device. The battery keeps the time but does not display it in case when the main power supply is disconnected. What use of a clock if it cannot show the time during the home power outage. Plenty of electronic devices utilize batteries in case of shortage of main power supply to offer promised functionality, and a buyer should not expect any less, especially since clock/radio does not use a lot of energy.Presumably, the main attraction of this clock, setting apart from many other available on the market, is time projection. However, the clock must face the viewer (the clock time that is) in order for the viewer to see the projected data correctly. If you turn the clock, you will see the projected time in reverse. What the completely absurd idea?! If I can see the clock I don't need the projection. The projected time can only be seen in dark and there is a reason behind it. You don't want to have bright numbers flashing at you when you're falling a sleep while having an option to see the time whenever you desire (i.e. wake up during the night). The only solution that this clock offers (if you don't want to see the bright numbers) is to settle for reading the projected time in reverse.Furthermore, I'm not really sure why designers decided to come up with two different settings: you have to set time then projected time. In other words, it is not the regular time that is projected but some other clocking mechanism offering. Completely unnecessary step and, I believe seeing in my clock, the battery keeps track only the regular and not projected time. Thus, if you want have the correct projected time after the power outage, you better set it up again.Of course, with JWIN JL707 you don't have an option to project time and temperature in your room, especially if you'd like to see both of them at the same time. I guess the designers thought that this would overload the viewer with information?I loved previously bought Sharp projection clock. However, after a several years of using it started to malfunction: the time started to reset itself. After reading a review from another buyer, who faced the same problem shortly after the purchase, I decided to go with something else: jWIN JL707.However, although the new (jWIN JL707)clock does not reset itself, its functionality/usability (knowing how good they could be because of my previous Sharp purchase) are as annoying as resetting of the clock.I give this product one star: even though it's bulky and heavy the shape and colors are pleasant. However, if this product was to be judged as a PROJECTION/Clock/Radio, the most it could get is 1/2 star, clearly not available in this rating. If you're a potential buyer, I would advise you to check other options. Even though the price is low, it was not right. The clock is not worth the money.

Buyer Be Advised, label confusion but still pretty cool
For the Price, high mark, it is however just an alarm clock...The feature I wanted was the laser projection viewing on the ceiling or wall.Im a shift worker, sleeping during the day. I like it dark so seeing the soft red light on the ceiling is easier on the eyes than the bright digital face of a regular clock.Fact #1 - You cannot see the projected time in daylight, I turn it off when I wake up anyway.Fact #2 - The laser will swivel forward and back to switch from ceiling to wall, 180deg. BUT...It will not rotate, If the time is upsidedown on the ceiling/wall you need to turn the clock to face the opposite direction or move the clock to the other side of the bed. The label on the laser shows a circular rotating lense, It Does Not Rotate, so the sticker is misleading.Bottomline, Hey its only $[...] bucks and the laser is cool. I have the front of the clock facing the wall so my projection view is correct on the ceiling.Take it or leave it?.... I'll take it :)

Button Placement is Great
For me, the strength of this clock is the placement of its buttons. Maybe it's just me, but I find each button to be exactly where I expect it to be. My initial reason for buying the unit was its ability to project the time on the ceiling or wall, and I still love that aspect - but that feature became secondary after using the product for a week. I simply don't fumble for the alarm's "off" button, or for the volume button, or for anything I'm looking for on the unit. I must agree that it's a bit redundant to have to set the project clock independently of the alarm clock... but I just don't mind so much once the time is set. It is an attractive clock intuitively laid out and easy to use. I'm a fan, especially considering the price.

COOLEST CLOCK EVER!!
I read the 1-star reviews and the 4- and 5-star reviews BEFORE I purchased this projection clock. I had to find out for myself. For the price, it couldn't be beat. After following the set-up instructions, I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of this space-age looking clock. IT'S FABULOUS. Someone said that it was an ugly clock. However, I respectfully disagree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whoever designed this clock with it's modern look should be promoted. It is brilliant!! The criticism that one can't read the projection time on the ceiling during the day is counterintuitive. One usually doesn't sleep during the day!! The idea of the projecting the time on the ceiling is BRILLIANT!!! I just roll over and there it is. No hassle, no fumbling, no bright lights in your eyes. Another criticism is that one couldn't sleep with bright light in their eyes. Just turn the clock face 90 degrees away from you and look at the ceiling!!I came back to Amazon.com to buy two more (just in case the are discontinued for whatever reason). I LOVE THIS CLOCK!!!

Excellent Product, Excellent Service!
My husband and I love this alarm clock. The projection really comes in handy. Every night, my husband says, "Where's my clock?" and I turn on the projection and put it on the wall on his side of the bed. This is the best alarm clock we've ever had. The projection is very bright and it's very nice that it allows you to focus it so no matter where you shine it you can see it.Also, I wanted to comment on the excellence of the seller. When I ordered the alarm clock the first time, I opened up the box and plugged it in and when I turned on the projection the first 1 only showed the bottom half of the number. I contacted the seller to get a number and address to return it for a replacement and the next day I received the replacement. I didn't even get to send the old one back before I got the replacement. This seller is wonderful. I was provided excellent service. I wish more sellers and stores had the same ethic and excellent customer service.
