Good to have in an emergency
I have no other purpose for this other than an emergency or if someone needs to light a candle for a party. It came in a multipack so I can give away the other 3. I always like to have a backup anyways. It has a seal to prevent the lighter fluid from leaking. The lighting of the match took a few tries to learn but it was not hard after watching the video. I had no issue with it leaking or spilling fluid. You only put enough fluid to go up 2/3 full or you will have too much inside. For the price, it is a good value. For the design, it is unobtrusive and small enough for a pocket. It is lightweight and feels durable.

Danger not a survival item
Sorry thT my fingers look like crap long story short the wick gets so wet it won't light. If you're even able to get a spark l. The flint is so deep into the plastic it's hard to eve cause a spark... thank God i bought multiple items to start a fire it's shamefully people will sell this to you as a survival item and you can even depend on it to keep you warm save your money huh the more expensive one it might just save your life..... oh and if you can't see it I t he photo yes I cut myself using it.

Make fire and put it where you need it.
These where easy to ignite. The give a strong flame for duration of the fuel soaked wick. Easily enough time to move flame to kindling, or seal the cut end of poly rope.Edit: I continue to use these in place of regular matches around the house. Most commonly sealing poly rope cut ends, but also fireplace starting. Two common mistakes:When striking it easy to spill fluid from the container. Easy solution, I always make a point to put my thumb over the opening. Even if I'm careless and invert or slosh the fluid I'm only getting a small bit on my thumb, and its not exposed to sparks or flame. When using, when the fuel in wick has burned off, blow it out before the wick burns. You can re-dunk the wick and start again. In this way you won't have to replace burnt wicks.

Not as reliable As I was hoping for.
This is not as reliable as i was hoping for. It takes several strikes to light and the container catches on fire every time, which is a little nerve racking. The wick is totally gone after just a couple lights. Have to pull the sticker out and readjust it which gets lighter fluid all over my hands. They work, once you get them started. They hold a pretty good flame. Just wish they were a little more user friendly. A see through fluid level on the side would be nice so you can tell how much is in there. If nothing else, they hold lighter fluid i can dump on stuff to make it easier to start.

SURVIVE Permanent Match
While the title of 'permanent match' may be a bit grandiose, the match is reliably functional once the covering film is scratched away from the ferro strip. We used Zippo lighter fluid, and the suggestion to fill the lighter only to the 3/4 mark is a valid one, in order to not cause overflow spillage when reinserting the 'match after striking. It's good to have spare wicks as part of the offering, though it should not be necessary for quite a few uses. The thin O ring attached to the key ring, well, it's really flimsy. The hole for the key ring is small, making it difficult to insert, as it is a really tight fit.We recommend the match based on the reliability of getting a flame that lasts a few seconds, and the bonus of spare wicks.

Very Poor Quality; Choose another brand
The tiny thumbscrews are difficult to tighten and loosen. A larger knob would really help. On several occasions, I had to use pliers to unscrew the match, and I was careful not to cross-thread any of them. Speaking of which, a couple of them were very difficult to keep from cross-threading. At almost every attempt to screw them in straight, they would suddenly cant and try to go in at an angle. I tried turning them backwards (in the unscrewing direction) to feel for the threads to align, but I couldn't feel it. Finally, most egregious, is that two of the 5 containers leak. One leaks so fast that I can't get it filled fast enough to see the fluid pooled in the bottom of the canister, much less to the midpoint as the instructions indicate. The other leaks more slowly, and I didn't realize it at first. I filled the container according to the instructions, wiped up what I thought must be spillage, and started to break-in the flint. On the 3rd or 4th strike, the match lit, but so did the bottom of the canister. It began to burn my hand. After I extinguished the flame, I held the canister high and watched as fuel slowly pooled and dripped from the bottom. So, after this experience, I decided that these are unreliable garbage and a safety hazard. I proceeded to process a return, and to my surprise, they wanted me to ship them back even though I have already poured fluid in them. I'm not 100% on laws about shipping flammable liquids, but I'm pretty sure that I can't ship anything that is leaking fuel. I guess the set was cheap enough that I can throw the leaking ones away and hope that the other ones don't fail, but I don't have much faith in that idea. I'll probably find another brand that works as advertised and get rid of all 5 of these. The savings isn't worth the burns.
