We usually get grits at the market but for some reason, this time they didn't have our usual choice (Bob's Red Mill). When looking online for options, I saw a couple of articles about the superiority of stone ground grits, and that - to the extent that grits can ever really be "healthy" - stone ground grits are a healthier choice. There were quite a few on Amazon to choose from so we just happened to go with the Weisenberger Stone Ground Yellow Grits. And wow, they were demonstrably better than anything we've had before. The grits-and-greens recipe we were making calls for adding some 1/2 and 1/2 and grated cheese to the grits, which certainly doesn't hurt flavor-wise :-) Because of the shipping, it's a lot more spendy to order these online than to buy grits locally but we'd do it again to get this brand and quality.

So good for Shrimp and Grits ! Cooked with chicken broth and water to done then add cheddar cheese and minced garlic . Yummy !

Love these grits, kinda pricey but when you love yellow coarse grits you have to find them where you can.

Better than I expected. Very creamy and rich. I enjoyed them very much but think they're a little pricey. Over $6 a lb when you add it up.

This is the original grits and will never go back to the box.
