Usually it was the occasional Christian evangelist sprinkled in between the pizza guy and UPS/FedEx guy who would ring the doorbell, but thanks to COVID and stay at home orders resulting in lots of online orders at our house, our doorbell has been getting quite the workout this past year. Sadly, a few weeks ago, after the pizza guy rang the doorbell, one of the overworked chimes got stuck in the "on" position and then overheated the chime system and then melted, resulting in an overload burden on the transformer and destroying both the chime and the transformer.This kit was the perfect replacement for our dead doorbell system, and comes with everything we needed, including the transformer as well as the chimes. At the local bigbox hardware store, the cost of the transformer alone was more than this kit. So I saved a good amount of money waiting 2 days for Amazon to deliver. The parts in the kit are exactly the same as what was in our house, leading me to think that the builder obviously used the same low-cost kit that he bulk ordered for all the houses on this block.Installation is super easy, all you need is a screwdriver and knowledge of how to turn off the circuit breaker so you don't get shocked. The hardest part was finding where the builder had hid the doorbell transformer. No lie, it was the worst part of this whole process and took me 3 days of constant exploring before I found it in the crawlspace attached to a light fixture. I was about to lose my mind. Just be patient and look carefully all around your house. Here's all the places I looked, and where your's might be if you're also looking for it: circuit breaker panel, garage, attic, closets near the chime, near the control box for the house alarm, utility room, outside the house by the cable box and where telephone wires used to be, inside the utility closet where the TV cable comes in and gets distributed in the house, near the furnace, near the AC blowers in the house, and the crawlspace. It may not be attached to the wall and may be stuck to some light receptacle, like in my case, so keep that in mind.

This was the perfect replacement for my old doorbell that broke after 14 years. Easy to install and works like a charm.

The doorbell kit worked fine as is. However, I purchased this planning to soon upgrade to a smart video doorbell. The 10va transformer was not enough to power the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro and the chime so I had to purchase a 30va transformer. This means I ended up only using the chime out of this kit.So make sure if you are buying this kit that you don't have any near future plans to install a video doorbell.

Easy to install and works great

A bit pricey but worked well to replace our broken door bell.

The first thing I heard when I picked up the package from my porch were all of the rattling broken pieces inside the box. The chime portion of the kit looked like it had been dropped off a three-story building it was in several pieces there were Springs, plungers and chime partsscattered all over the inside of the box

I am in a 1960s ranch style home and this was so easy to install. You will have no problem with its install or operation it works great.
