Very happy with this keypad entry lock/lever
I read the reviews and for the most part they were great. I wasn't going to spend quite this much, but I didn't want a $25 lock either. I'm very happy I made the choice to get this lock.My son (14 years old) helped me install it - more like he held the tools for me because it was over within 20 minutes. Would have been quicker but I'm particular about the details so I move slowly. The only issue with installation that I had was getting the wires out of the way once I had the battery in place - but after a moment it became pretty logical how to place them. Programming it was a breeze, the instructions are very good for this. It took my son longer to decide what 4-digit code he wanted than it took me to program the entire thing otherwise. The locks are very nice looking (I got the Satin Nickel finish) and look like they're going to last a long time. The lighted keypad is nice and bright, and shines in a pleasant blue color as well. I have a standard door with a standard doorknob set up in it and this fit perfectly. The replacement plates were even nice quality, very solid.I've been using this for a month now and it's still working perfectly. When I have to replace the battery it seems like it should take maybe 10 minutes to do so - not bad whatsoever. I like that the inside handle works independently from the outside handle - so you can have it set up where it's locked from the outside but not from the inside (no more unlocking your door to leave your house, unless you're using a deadbolt or chain of course). Also I tested the key and it worked great too - may sound silly but it felt very solid and well made as well.Being able to program several codes is great - I have one code specifically that I can hand out to friends or neighbors if ever there's a reason to have them go into my house when I'm not home. Then I can easily change it if I need to afterward, without changing my own code.I would recommend this lock to anyone - it really is high quality and adds a neat little piece of technology to your life as well.Update, 1/8/13: A few months shy of 3 years of daily use (this is on my main outside door), and the original battery hasn't even worn out yet. There is no wear on the buttons (which would show which ones were hit the most often) - that's very important to me. I keep the instruction manual handy in the drawer because I've needed to create a new code a couple of times (and remove them later) for friends and the dog sitter to use. This is absolutely a 5-star product!

Happy with purchase
We just remodeled our house and replaced all our doors and chose Schlage brand for all the doorknobs. We just had a Schlage Keypad and deadbolt installed and love it! Setting up the code is easy. The lock functionality and quality is top notch. No issues at all. Rest assure that you are purchasing the top brand of lock that money can buy. So worth it. We are very happy with this purchase.

An excellent keypad lever
This keypad door lever is a great replacement for a standard door lever, if you want to make access easier. Here's what I like about it:1. This product is a door lever (i.e. a door knob, but without a knob) that you can lock and unlock without a key. Instead, you enter a 4 digit password to lock and unlock the door. Using a code to unlock the door is much faster and easier than fumbling for keys. Also, you'll never be locked out unless your forget your code.2. If you have a knob or lever on your door, you can easily remove it and install this lever using a regular screwdriver.3. You can set multiple codes (at least 5) to allow friends to access your home. You can easily delete the codes later when access is no longer required. Codes are set up using a 6 digit master password (which can be used to add and delete 4-digit access codes, but not to lock or unlock the door).4. You can lock the door without the code. Just press turn the knob on the inside, and your door is locked. You will still need a valid code to unlock the door. This makes locking up when you leave very convenient. If you turn the knob on the inside the other way, your door is unlocked and you can come and go without entering the code.5. This lock can be made "bump-proof." Bumping is a relatively new, and very easy way to pick most locks. It can be done in about 10 seconds and renders most current locks worthless as security devices. If you want to know more, search the internet for "bump key" and you'll be horrified at what you see. If you take this lever to your locksmith before installing it and tell him to disable the key mechanism, your door will be completely resistant to bumping (and keys). You can also easily disable the key mechanism yourself before installing the lever. I haven't used a key to get into my house since I've installed this.6. The keypad is backlit, but only if you push the schlage key before you enter your code.7. The unit uses a standard 9-volt battery. I've had mine for more than a year and haven't needed to replace it.8. The one feature that I wish this unit had was time based entry rules. I'd love to create a password which only works during certain hours, so that a housekeeper could access the house on a certain day or at a certain time. Alas, nothing is perfect...
