Yes. Its MIDI. But you should consider XKey (wired) or XKey Air (Bluetooth MIDI). They are more compact and overall look just like regular computer keyboard :)

Yes this works with all irig software and ipad music apps, you do sometimes have make sure it is selected in the setting of some of the apps and also once in awhile it may lock up just unplug it and plug it back and it restores it.

The iRig Keys 2 series only offers different sizes, they are all universal. The iRig Keys 2 Mini, iRig Keys 2 and iRig Keys 2 Pro will all work across platforms or without a connected device (As a MIDI controller) when connecting power to the USB port.
