I started with an air cleaner which improved my sleeping because it sorted my blocked nose, but i was also suffering from dry eyes and sinusitis (a gift of aging) I did some research and found others had tried a humidifier to help protect the delicate tissues found up noses and in eyes. I bought this humidifier because it had a nice big tank and a very simple design at a good price. It, coupled with the air cleaner have made a huge difference to my comfort and quality of sleep. It is quiet and delivers a gentle stream of cool vapour into the room, the large tank means I don't have to worry about constant refilling or it running dry. My one niggle is that it is a little unwieldy. It's quite heavy when full. (a handle?) And maybe some line up arrows so you can see quickly how to join the top to the bottom? All in all I am very pleased. It is neat, discreet and has a reassuring build quality.

I have asthma, but control it well. And then we had a multi fuel stove installed...Within a couple of hours I was coughing and spluttering and starting to feel uncomfortable. Didn't give it a thought that the dry air of the Woodburner would kick off the asthma. After a day's research and reading reviews here on this product, decided to give it a go. Fantastic results and it brought immediate relief, thank goodness. My husband also commented that he enjoyed the cooling mist this unit brings and actually made his throat much more comfortable as well. Lots of different power settings and very easy to use and fill. As a rough guess our sitting room (old cottage) is approx 12' x 15' and this humidifier copes beautifully. Excellent buy and would totally recommend. So glad I found it!

To be honest I would be giving it 5 stars if it wasn't for the unpleasant smell it developed after about 10 days of use. I have to say that the item itself is great, the mist it produces is very helpful, I found it I was sleeping better and so did my 3 year old, no more coughing in the middle of the night. However even after washing the unit as recommended in the instructions (adding vinegar and leaving for 20 mins, rinsing well afterwards) the main water container still had the same smell. The water filter smells the same exact way, so I thought it was the cause of the smell, I am still not sure. I washed the water container again with soapy water and the smell came back minutes after it was left to dry. I don't want to return it as I like everything else about it. My concern is the smell will start to effect the air in the room, as it hasn't yet.The only other minor issue is how bright the light is on the power button. I had to use blue tac to block it as it was extremely bright. If that could be fixed for the future I am sure the seller / manufacturer would only win here.Washing and using it is very simple. The sound it produces when on is noticeable but I find it soothing and it actually helps me fall asleep, unlike the previous humidifier we had by another brand which made a high pitch buzzing noise that even though reasonably quiet drove me crazy and I couldn't settle for long.I also think it would be good overall perhaps if it was possible to open the main water container for emptying / washing purposes and drying it better as there is no way you can get in to dry it on the inside. I'm a professional singer. I work on ships. Anyone who sings on ships will tell you to survive, you need a humidifier. This one has been amazing. I took it away for two months and it's been on, minimum half power, pretty much 24 hours a day. It's been amazing.First, it breaks down in to 5 parts. I managed to fit it in to a suitcase (with my desktop PC and monitor so, very do-able without a weight limit!). I travelled the length of the country by train, lugged my bag across Hull and Newcastle and from one to the other. No damage, no sign of it not working. Great.You can put 4 or 5 drops of olbas oil in the scent tray thing and it disperses it beautifully.On full power, it easily lasted a full nights sleep. I guess about 10-12 hours when its full and on full power. For the record, when it is, it quickly turns your cabin in to a rain forest, love it!The light can be nice for reading etc.If you're going away on a 6 months contract on a ship, this humidifier is worth its weight in gold.Critical feedback: Two things, 1st, if you could shape it to fit better in a suitcase (maybe make a travel version), great. Us travelling singers can afford to lose a litre or so for easier transport.Second: the inside blue part (kind of like a handle to get it off the stand) came off. A foldaway handle would make getting it off the base a little easier but, by no means a huge problem. Thank you so much!
