Heavy duty product.
I bought this Dutch oven for making sourdough, and it easily holds a large bread pan with plenty of height for the loaf to rise as high as it wants. Like any Lodge product it's heavy and well-made. I went with this one instead of the specialized sourdough pan that's almost $60 more and I'm glad I did.

LOVE THIS
First, Can't go wrong with Cast Iron. This is a great size for a roast, Pork Butt or anything else. Too big for one meal, but if you gotta feed a few folks, this will be your go to.

Very good value for the money
I did not experience any of the problems other shoppers have had with enameled cast iron dutch ovens. I own a round Lodge dutch oven that has served us well for many years, particularly to roast a whole chicken. Recently I decided to get a larger, oval dutch oven to see how it would serve to roast a small turkey. It worked just fine except that our (12-lb.) turkey was just a bit too tall for the lid to fit. Instead we covered it tightly with a big sheet of aluminum foil which served the purpose admirably. Our Lodge 7 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Oval Dutch Oven with Lid arrived promptly and was well packaged -- no chips, no scratches, no issues. I would guess that the other brands that cost 2-3 times more might be higher quality but for my money, Lodge serves just fine. Incidentally, I have a Lodge cast iron fry pan that I don't like much, but it isn't enameled. I recommend this model of Lodge dutch oven for utility over wow-factor. I'm not the kind of cook that would display a high-end dutch oven on my stovetop for all to see.

On par with Le Creuset
I wanted an oval Dutch oven so I could both bake bread and roast a chicken/turkey. This is a well though out design with huge handles that make it easy to grip when using pot holders. Some larger, more expensive options don't have an enamel interior coating and I didn't want to get into seasoning this pot. The cast iron distributes heat evenly but I like having the oval so that the outer edges stay out of the direct flame. When cooking skin on chicken thighs it is great to be able to move the first ones to the edges so they don't over cook. This Dutch oven is very heavy so consider that when purchasing. The lid fits properly and the packaging was handled properly. You will pass this on to future generation. This was $300 to $500 cheaper than similar models.

Do not buy unless you're okay with receiving a damaged product - can't return
I should have heeded all the reviews that said this product arrives damaged. I figured I live only 40 minutes from Lodge, so hopefully it wouldn't get damaged since it didn't have to travel far. Nope, it arrived with a big chip of enamel missing on the lid. And you can't return it. I have to contact Lodge to see if they will remedy the issue. While this Dutch oven is more affordable than Le Creuset or Staub, it's still too expensive to be okay with a receiving a damaged product. Next time, I'll spend the money on the big names.

Weighs a TON!
This is beautiful but not for the faint of heart! It’s very very heavy. Buyer beware.

Great value for the price, no buyers remorse here!
I have made a big pot of baked beans in this and then canned them. It was perfect and clean up was a breeze!
