Fits my needs at a great price
I had three main things that I wanted in a power strip:(1) A switch so that I could easily connect/disconnect power to the units plugged into this (I have some items that I want completely unpowered when I'm not using them)(2) Outlets oriented to accommodate multiple transformers with plugs that stick out 90 degrees from the outlet (like this one)(3) A product that wasn't overly expensiveThis strip works perfectly for me. The power switch is lighted and good sized, making it very easy for me to see and flip with my toe while I'm seated at my desk. One of my right-angle transformers is large enough that a three-prong plug won't fit next to it, but a two-prong works just fine. Prices fluctuate (I bought it at $7, and it's $8 as I type this), but full retail on this is on $12. A great bargain if you ask me.I can't speak to the surge protection aspects as (a) I haven't had a surge since buying it and (b) I actually have it plugged into another surge protector. The reason that I have it daisy-chained in another strip is that this doesn't have a right-angle plug to go into the wall outlet, and I have a desk pretty close to the wall so I need a flush fit. So, the one drawback to this strip is that it doesn't have a right-angle power plug, but that's easy for me to overlook given the pros. (Note: daisy-chaining power strips can be dangerous, so do some research if you plan to do it - my devices are very low current, so the risk is low). For about the same price, you can get this same strip with a 6-foot power cord (the TLP606) in either white or black.Overall, highly recommended.

Nice Basic Surge Protector
I have three of these, and they've all lived through numerous surges/spikes. I like the slim line of the protector because it fits behind things, and the end outlet can be used for larger transformer/plugs. The on/off switch is a nice option at this price and can be used to save electricity for some always-on appliances - but I unplug mine during severe electrical storms. Internal surges and spikes are not the same as a lightening hit.I have two which are wall-mounted and find one tends to slide and come off the wall when unplugging cords - I have to hold the surge protector with one hand while unplugging cords. My other doesn't. This is due to the size of the screw heads and how closely they are screwed into the wall - I wish it had come with screws for wall-mounting since this is a featured option. The stiff extension cord exacerbates this problem if you don't use screws with the widest heads to fit.My third came with a metal piece (internally) misaligned due to poor workmanship. Plugging in the 3rd prong took some initial strength for each outlet, but once I forced them, the metal strip moved enough to allow easy plug-ins afterward.Recommended for the price.

Great Product at a Great Price
What can you say about a surge protector? It's a good product that I have in my garage, so it is exposed to the elements. I like that for the price, you get 990 Joules, and the true value is the USB charging ports. I've had Tripp Lite products for decades and have never been disappointed.
