Auto fishing, set and forget. Well, sorta.
I bought these to add to my backpacking gear as an option for fresh food during a layover day. I keep a set in the SUV also in case of a break down while out and about. One of the reasons I got these is because they are an auto reel so I don't have to babysit them and can get something else done. They do work as expected and are great for adding some fresh food to a freeze dried diet. Get a set, add some hooks, dig some bait and have a fresh fish or two for grub.

All 6 were fully functional
I tested all 6 and each functioned correctly! I am excited to try these if Michigan ever gets cold enough for some ice fishing!

Check your state laws
If the meausre is ... Have I caught anything yet? the answer is no. mostly becasue in my state these are HIGHLY illegal and only first nations people can use them. And no one wants to get arrested by tree cops on a camping trip. Having said that I do camp off the beaten path not at camp sites (boondocking is legal where i live) so I have deployed them. But it was for a few hours on our last night so I wasnt all that focused on fishing for sustiance. Ill try them more this summer. I like the concept of dropping 3 lines and walking away which is why i bought them

Timeless
These are fantastic for camping. Just twine it up to a branch over the water, set the spring and bait your hook. It has about a 70% success rate when using a treble hook and dough bait on the bottom and about a 90% success rate when using a baitholder, shad and bobber. In the amount of time it took to set up camp, we had caught 5 fish without even really fishing. These are fantastic for catching anyone wanting to catch fish without having to attend your line the whole time. Very highly recommend for docks and even shorelines.

Good buy
So far from what I see this is a great tool to have in a camping backpack. Easy to use, sturdy, light.

Kind of cheap
The idea and metal are great but the spring isn’t strong enough and the string should be fishing string or something that won’t ruin in water
