Vulnerable to combs, but good enough
I've used this lock on my work locker for over 3 years, it continues to work well.BUT, you need to know that this Abus model is vulnerable to "combing", which basically means you can buy a universal key (comb) online that can unlock every Abus 55 lock (as well as nearly all Master lock models) in just a couple seconds. It's also vulnerable to shimming, but most padlocks are anyway.To keep coworkers out of your stuff, it's totally fine. But anyone who really *wants* to get into your stuff can do it with zero skill required, so just be aware. Higher level Abus locks don't have the comb problem.

Solid Orange Belt Lock for Locksport
I purchased this lock for Lock sport. It's a challenging lock to pick For novice lock pickers. Many Master locks can be opened in a few seconds with a bypass tool, while this ABUS is much trickier to get open. This is an affordable lock that I would feel adequately secure using. It has good build quality with good level of tolerances for the money.

Not the old ABUS I knew...
The old ABUS locks were really well made. The mechanism was silky smooth, there was absolutely no rattle or sticking of the hasp. The keys went in came out with the softest of clicks and turned like butter.This lock sticks, the hasp rattles when locked, and rocks so much it grabs the hole like a hold-fast in a bench. The key is difficult to insert, it catches partway in, and is just as difficult to pull. To turn the key requires getting it to 'snap free', and then it snags partway through the rotation.Am I asking too much from a low-cost lock?
