Great for 3D printing
Heats up quickly to desired temp, I haven't checked it, but accurate enough for heat set inserts. Brass tips are all accurate to the inserts I use, and the tip is long enough that I can set it on a stand with the insert on it and let it heat up a bit before using it.

Very easy to use
This is a very easy way to install threaded heatsets. I would highly recommend this. everything was very easy to use and allowed me to install them with no mess or mistakes

The tool you need
Easy to use. Better than using a soldering iron.

Works well
Got this explicitly for heat insert use for 3D printing, and it has worked excellent with PLA. The temperature controls seem reasonable, heats up reasonably fast, and it's simple and easy to use. I've only had it for a few months but a great value so far.

First soldering Iron was DOA
I had to go through two of these soldering irons to get one that works. The first soldering Iron sent arrived DOA. I returned it for a second one and it worked just fine out of the box. I like the fact that I can adjust the temperature which was something my old soldering iron couldn't do.

Works great and surprisingly accurate
I'm actually amazed this thing works as well as it does. I bought this mainly for doing threaded inserts for 3D printing but also to replace my very old aging Radio Shack 15w soldering iron. This thing is small, easy to use, and most importantly versatile. I haven't touched that old radio shack one and I'm probably going to throw it out at this point since even if this on dies I'd just buy another. My friend has a big fancy $140 soldering iron and I'd put this little thing up against it any day.

Good for board level soldering.
I really found this useful. It's great for the price. I don't expect it to last longer than 5 years of indoor use on boards. I rarely ever did board level soldering. I always had those blunt tip, no temperature setting, inferior irons. I also use a gas torch to solder; but that's for amplifier cables and such. The cord is stiff, so it may spring away from where you set it down.

Fast heating and easy to use
Works well for both real soldering and for inserts in 3D prints. Very fast heating. I printed a box for it and the various bits and bobs that are needed.
