Recommended uses: road rash after painful debridement.
Anyone who has been in a Wound Care facility will know what to do with this bandage material. For the novice, this is used "After" the removal of dead, damaged, infected skin in order to aid in the healing process. Definition time: Debridement is the medical removal of dead, damaged, or infected tissue to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue. This wrap is used in conjunction with an compression wrap like an ace bandage. It stays on for several days and the Zinc assists the new skins development. Usually the person using this is asked to also take Zinc vitamin supplements as well. Don't be a "If some is good, more is better" person when it comes to taking vitamins, you can kill yourself taking more than one dose a day! Warning: if you have sever skin conditions or ulcers, see a professional. The over the counter stuff just makes things worse (been there). Once you have healed (by seeing a health care professional) this bandage will assist with minor setbacks and you will by that time know how to (properly) use it. See a Doctor, don't lose a limb because you think the over the counter stuff will work.

Really helpful for stubborn deep cracked skin
I am currently experiencing topical steroid withdrawal. I had a small amount of eczema that was treated with topical steroids prescribed by my dermatologist. It worked for a while.. but then it didn't. So he gave me stronger steroids. They worked for a while too. Then they didn't. It got to the point that the lower portion of both legs as well as the backs of both hands were covered in an oozy mess of red raw skin. Gross, painful, itchy. I found Itsan.org and decided to stop using topical steroids. I am almost 5 months off them and I wish I had discovered these bandages sooner. My skin has cleared up quite a bit from five months ago. I rarely have ooze any more and my legs are about 70% healed. On the bad days I wrap these bandages over the skin with deep fissures or ooze, then cover them in tubular bandages. Then I wear long sleeves/pants/cotton gloves over top. These help tremendously with healing cracks, stubborn spots. It is a messier process than I expected at first. but totally worth it to me.

Good medicine!
This was recommended by the doctors’ nurse when my husband torn a chunk of skin off his arm. I think it helped the healing process, but it sure was messy to use. He was clean and bandaged....but, I was a gooey mess. It reminded me of zinc oxide..a thick white paste that doesn’t wash off with water.

This stuff is amazing!
Home nurse recommended this for my mothers shin swound. The wound was a large and her circulation poor. Healing had been very slow and cleaning was difficult. This stuff helped the wound heal increadibly fast and clean. I will warn that the reaction of the zinc with certain protective bandages may turn green on the bandage. Our doctor said it was fine (not mold or infection), but we changed more often. We used a double layer of the guauze and covered the wound completely. We've since used it on rashes, and other cuts with great satisfaction.

Wonderful!
This is basically a lose woven gauze, coated/soaked with Zinc ointment. It's especially good in creased areas, that have a severe rash. Example: Under breasts, under belly fat that hangs over. Yes, some people have that, especially after losing a lot of weight from an illness, such as cancer, plus developing pressure sores on the "bottom". What is best about it is with a little thought, it can be a bandage. I will admit, it's messy, but well worth the mess. I wear rubber gloves. Anyway, I learned about this product when my hubby was in the hospital and he have a severe rash.

It works!
This was used for wound care on lower legs before putting support hose on. The areas are completely healed except for one tiny area. It will be closed in the next few days!
