A beast!
This thing is a beast! I use it for countless things, among which are bonding wooden items, bonding electronics to things for prototyping, animatronics, carpentry, repairs, waterproofing/potting, and so much more. I've put it through a lot of abuse in a year and it just works. I was worried about the plastic base, but it's holding up. I would prefer a strong wire stand that spans from the nozzle to the base like other brands, but I can't complain much more than that. I also appreciate the wings on the side so if it's laid down, the glue flows toward the nozzle rather than back into the gun. We'll see how it lasts, but so far I'm happy. It has its rightful place in my maker lab.

Arrived broken/inopperable, I fixed it
So for $40 I had hoped this glue gun would be fantastic, but it arrived and did not work right out of the box. I have a lot of experience with glue guns from growing up with them through high school and college, and if a glue gun is already not working you can't make it work less, so I started taking the thing apart.I was super happy that it came apart with no issues, no internal tamper-proofs or anything like that or I would give it a 2 star I think.I knew it had to be a connection issue cause the element would not heat but the switch light was on so I took off the insulation on the wires to check and got shocked. After unplugging the glue gun I continued and discovered the wire going to the top element plate was not even attached so I worked open the crimp and pushed the wire back in before crimping it on again with pliers.I reassembled the element wrong the first time and shorted the circuit-breaker for that room, before doing it right. It goes like this, the copper plates are interchangeable, you do top plate, the 3 insulator buffers, bottom plate, then the either aluminum or steel plate goes at the bottom and then re-wrap the assembly before reattaching the element to the glue extruder with the top copper plate touching the extruder and the steel plate being the bottom and touching the clamps.Be sure to re-insulate the wires with electrical tape if you remove the shrink wrap that's on them.Be aware that the screws are cheapo Chinese garbage and strip easily. but I took it apart like 5 times figuring this out and you may only have to do it once so stripping may be minimal for you.I give this a four because it can be fixed and it works great right now. I will post an update if anything else goes wrong, otherwise it should be smooth sailing. The fix only took about one and a half hours and that is with trouble shooting and taking it appart/putting together several times. It should take you about 20 minutes with reasonable tools.Best of luck friends and happy crafting!!

Legit brand , safe, performs as advertised. Get this one!
This one is a winner. A real American brand / design that is safe and doesn’t make fraudulent claims. The gun is huge and it has the power it claims. Some reviews criticize it as having false power claims , mentioning “inrush current” (the manufacturer may even be staying it this way) which is not in fact the proper terminology.Inrush current as defined in the electrical world is a very brief current spike associated with plugging in power supplies or starting motors up. It lasts a fraction of a second. This device on the other hand starts off at 300W, which is very, very high and starts melting glue very quickly, then throttles itself back over several seconds.. If it didn’t do this it would overheat and ignite the glue and burn out very quickly. It must have some kind of automatic thermal current regulation, probably a PTC thermistor heating element- which is fantastic - and certainly not something I’ve ever found ,or would expect to find , in the Chinese no-name brands .So I’m very happy I bought this. It is a safe product from a globally recognized American brand. It would be crazy to buy some Chinese unsafe junk brand, no matter how great the reviews, especially because this Areow unit did not cost more than the Chinese “premium” units — with their fake power ratings and all. The Arrow is a bargain in fact and a no brainer purchase.

Finally a glue gun that works
Got frustrated with the cheap guns I have tried in the past to glue slabs to the flattening jig, only to have them slip. Plugged it in, heated it up (took 3 or 4 minutes) glued the slab. Took the glue longer to cool, so it gets hotter, which is good. After a couple minutes, I couldn't move the slab. Don't waste your money on the cheap ones, get a good one and don't look back.
