Does anyone know a difference between these and the ones that go for triple or more elsewhere like ebay? Is there a difference?
What is the actual shackle diameter? This listing says 5/16" but the manufacturer's specs for the 80TI/50 say it is 10mm (over 3/8").
Will the metal ring that loops through to close a locker/door/storage unit fit through the hole in a standard locker at a school?
Can this lock fit through the holes on a Pelican 1400 case?

Robust, and light for its size
The media could not be loaded. Good build quality and corrosion resistance. This is, in my opinion, a great value, and one of the better locks you can use to keep novices out and slow experts down. The keyway is somewhat restricted, and the lock has 6 pins, 5 of which are security spool pins. It is hard to pick and cannot be defeated with a comb. The shackle tolerances are less than ideal, making it vulnerable to shimming, but every lock has its weakness/vulnerability. This lock is a lot better than most.

This lock is so easy to use
The mechanisms on this lock are so smooth and easy. It's a GREAT lock.

Great practice lock, but shimmable.
This lock is awesome in general, with a very secure design in many ways, beefy shackle, and large 6-pin high security cylinder with a wicked looking keyway, and a steep high-low-high-low pattern of bitting on the key.But it falls short in a couple of important ways in terms of security. It can be shimmed, firstly, making all that security kind of a joke. A ball bearing locking system would prevent this.Next, that wicked looking keyway is not very obstructed, but fairly wide open, allowing me to pick it from the bottom of the keyway with a .025" thick short hook without any issues from the warding in the lock. Again, not super secure, but it looks cool.So it isn't as good as it could be with a couple of simple changes, but it's still good pucking practice for locksport

Great lock for the price
This Abus 80ti/50 is a solid made, smooth operating lock. The body is a titanium/aluminum alloy with a hardened steel shackle. It is designed to be weather resistant and operate in conditions where you might otherwise use a brass padlock. The lock contains security pins to make it pick resistant but it is worth noting that the lock is susceptible to a shim attack. This lock will, however, stop most would-be thiefs as very few are going to bother trying to shim the lock. It is ideally suited for medium security applications. For the lock sport enthusiast, this is a green belt lock. It contains a combination of serrated and spool pins and has very tight machine trolerances. This lock gives great feedback and is a fun, challenging pick.

Abus trumps master lock any day
Abus is more costly than big box choices, but it is superior in every way. Keys are even nicer than master lock. Abus makes a consistently great product.

Sturdy locks for such little weight
(April 5, 2019)This review will be short, since I've only been using this lock for a couple days now.Purchased this to replace a rusted out lock I was using to secure my power box outside of the house. Lock is under an overhang, exposed to the lovely weather we get here in Florida. I do not expect to be opening the lock anytime soon, so for the most part, it’s just going to be sitting out there doing its thing. Will post an update to this review at a later time, maybe around fall. That should have been long enough to have been dealt some interesting weather conditions.(May 2020)Locks have been outside for over a year and they still open just fine with a key. No noticeable surface rust that I can see. There was some odd white crusty stuff near the drain hole, but that was probably mineral build up from rain/roof run off water.Overall, I'm impressed by the lock’s durability. That said, I'm aware of the reviews pointing out the locks can be easily shimmed. Frankly, A LOT locks have the same issue. I am not using this lock to protect anything of value, so I accept the risk of the locks being hackable versus the risk of some "genius" opening out my outside electrical junction box, and electrocuting himself. If said "genius" shims the lock and begins to mess with the box, then that's on them, I did my due diligence by securing the box from unauthorized access.

Thick shackle, good protection
I chose this lock after watching a couple videos going through the different levels of locks and showing which ones were best in security. This lock was a nice mid-range one, not easy to break into without costing too much. The shackle is really thick - much thicker than the average Master lock (which I know are usually a poor example since they're so easy to break into). It wasn't too thick, though; I was still able to fit it through my storage unit lock. It also has a nice heft to it; it doesn't feel like it will break easily. Plus, it was a good price - while the $100 lock will probably be more secure, I feel confident in leaving my stuff protected by this lock. Plus, with Master locks on a lot of the other storage units, I feel like a burglar would go for the easier prey than trying to break into this lock.I'm not a locksmith so I can't attest to how easy or how difficult it is to break into this lock, but I can tell you that it has a long, six-pin key that should be more difficult for someone to pick. Overall I think it's a good choice.

Don't think there is a better lock for the price
This lock is rely good for the price, the lock has a good core and is pick resistant, especially resistant compared to common locks in the price range, the mechanism is very smooth, the unlock and lock is smooth, the body feels sturdy and heavy, the lock is up against metal for me, clashing around the body has no taken much marking at all after a month and a half or so

But, at least in my package, you could shim it open in 45 seconds (if you know what a padlock shim is, with virtually no skill, as it has no ball bearing anti shim or other shim prevention feature). Also honest, if you can live with the NYCHA printed on it and you order a couple (to save shipping as it is a flat rate) and can live with the fact that it is not made in Germany, and the hasp hole you are trying to put a lock through is big enough - this model has an 11mm thick shackle that is too wide for most gym lockers and such, the $10 ABUS 34/55 that are sold by some guy in large quantities on Ebay is the way to go (if you want to spend about $25 or less and are OK with or need an open shackle design lock (not shrouded). FYI - 11MM hardened is thick enough to stop all but the very largest bolt cutters, but can still be cut with the very big ones (with enough leverage) and, of course any non-shrouded lock will stand that long against the proper power tools (even shrouded normal locks will last a bunch less than a minute). Note: for a self storage space or similar, also look into getting a hasp protector (as those can be cut too - easier than a \"real\" lock)."}},{"@type":"Question","name":"What is the actual shackle diameter?
